My name is Amanda Collett and I’m the Director for Mommy Connections – Ridge Meadows which covers Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. I fell in love with the Mommy Connections idea knowing that I was constantly looking for a program that offered the type of knowledge that Mommy Connections has. At the same time, meeting new moms who have the same questions as me and making new “mommy” friends excited me. Since being a mom doesn’t come with a manual having experts help with topics that were foreign to me like when to introduce solids, teething tips, potty training and meeting other moms also excited me and I wanted to be apart of it.

I’m a new mother of two. I just had my second child, a little boy and already have a 2 1/2yr old little girl. Coming from the corporate world of Business Development and endless networking events, client dinners and travel I was away from my daughter more than I wanted and now that I have two being away from them both full time at work doesn’t appeal to me. However, I do need to be stimulated through business and love to be social, I was looking for something that would offer me the flexibility to work from home, allow me to still spend time with my kids, meet other moms who get it and can relate when it comes to the some times frustrating temper tantrums, emotional roller coasters, and most importantly excitement, laughter, joy and love when it comes to being a mother.  For me, Mommy Connections is my perfect fit!

My husband and I made the move from Vancouver to Maple Ridge in 2010 and would never go anywhere else. We fell in love with it’s natural beauty, the hikes, the lakes, the mountains, the outdoors and what this amazing community has to offer. Between farmers markets, the numerous festivals and amazing community/town feel that Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows has to offer it’s the perfect place to raise a family. I want to help support local businesses and support other moms in general. They say ” It takes a village to raise a child” and mommy connections helps with just that concept, and I’m proud to be apart of it.
