My name is Lauren, and I am the new Program Director for Mommy Connections Lloydminster and Area!

While on maternity leave, I was desperately searching for a way to work from home in order to stay at home with my daughter. I came across Mommy Connections in January 2012, and looked into it, but my area (Wainwright) was already covered. So, I returned to work, which was an adjustment to say the least! It went okay for a while, but after about three months, I knew it just wasn’t for me anymore. As luck would have it, a spot opened up to take over the Lloydminster and Area Mommy Connections, and I jumped on it! Despite working in an office with a wonderful group of women, and working with a population close to my heart, it was time for me to leave and take on a new direction.

I knew becoming a mom would change me, but I had no idea how significantly I would change! My maternity leave was packed with mommy groups, swimming, library visits, and just spending time learning about my daughter, and myself. I love connecting with other mommy’s, and talking about all the exciting and significant changes we see in our babies, and I love talking about pregnancy! I also know how important it is to get back to being you, and making time for yourself. I hope to be able to offer programs and activities that can facilitate just that.

I am so excited to continue on with Lloydminster and Cold Lake Mommy Connections, and even more excited to bring it to my community in Wainwright! I feel I have a lot to offer, with a background in Family Studies, program facilitation, and eight years of being dedicated to working with families.
