How can herbal remedies help women with hair loss?

There is nothing more gorgeous than thick hair that shine on head with natural health. But hair loss is a common problem that many Canadian women suffer from.

There are almost 100,000 strands of hair on your scalp and it is considered very normal to lose 60 to 100 strands per day. But when hair start falling more than that, its the time for you to take action so you does not have to face baldness or bald spots. Many readily available ingredients can be used to treat hair loss but it is more preferable to cope with this problem using some herbal remedies

  1. Indian Gooseberry or Amla

For healthy and fast hair growth, you can use Indian gooseberry also known as Amla. It is rich in vitamin C, of which a deficiency in the body can cause hair loss.

The anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant and the exfoliating properties present in Amla can help maintain a healthy scalp and assist hair growth.

How to use:

  1. Mix one tbsp each of Indian gooseberry or amla pulp in lemon juice.
  2. Massage your scalp with the mixture properly and cover your hair with a shower cap.
  3. Leave it overnight and shampoo your hair in the morning.
  1. Fenugreek

Fenugreek also known as methi, is highly beneficial in treating hair loss. Fenugreek seeds contain hormone antecedents that boost hair growth and help rebuild hair follicles. It also contains proteins and nicotinic acid that quicken the hair growth.

How to use:

  1. Soak one cup of fenugreek seeds in water overnight.
  2. Grind them to make a paste in morning.
  3. Apply the paste on your hair and cover with a shower cap. Rinse your hair after about 40 minutes.
  4. Follow this remedy every morning for a month.
  1. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera contains enzymes that instantly promote healthy hair growth. Also, its alkalizing properties can help bring the scalp and hair’s pH to a more desirable level, which can greatly assist your hair growth.

Daily use can also relieve scalp itching, inflammation, reduce scalp redness, add strength to hair, and alleviate dandruff.

How to use:

  1. Apply aloe Vera gel onto the scalp.
  2. Leave it on for a few hours and then wash with lukewarm water.
  3. Repeat the process 3 to 4 times a week.

You can also eat one tbsp of Aloe Vera juice every day on an empty stomach to enjoy better hair growth.

  1. Liquorice Root

Liquorice root is another herb that prevents hair loss and repair damaged one.

The appeasing properties of liquorice roots open the pores, soothe the scalp and help get rid of irritations like dry flakes. This remedy is good for dandruff, hair loss and baldness.

  1. Add one tbsp of ground liquorice root in one cup milk with a quarter tsp saffron. Mix it thoroughly.
  2. Apply the paste on bald patches at bedtime and leave it on overnight.
  3. In the morning, wash your hair.
  4. Follow this remedy once or twice a week.

You can also take liquorice internally in the form of liquorice tea 3 times a day.

5.    Chinese Hibiscus

The Chinese hibiscus flower has many properties that can help in the treatment of hair loss. In addition it assists hair growth, this flower can also be used to cure dandruff, thicken hair, prevent split ends and prevent premature greying.

How to use:

  1. Add 10 Chinese Hibiscus flowers to 2 cups of coconut oil.
  2. Heat the solution until overcooked. Twist it to collect the oil.
  3. Apply the oil on your hair before going to bed. Wash your hair in the morning.
  4. Repeat this process few times a week.

You can also make tea with this flower and use it as a rinse for your hair to encourage proper growth.

  1. Beetroot

You must include fresh beetroot juice in your diet for healthy hair on scalp. In addition to that, spinach juice, alfalfa juice, lettuce juice, or carrot juice will also helps in keeping your hair healthy.

How to use:

  1. Grind a few beetroot leaves (boiled in water) along with henna
  2. Apply the paste on your scalp.
  3. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it out.
  4. Repeat process several times a week.

 

  1. Garlic 

Garlic has high sulphur content just like onion. This is the reason it is used in traditional hair re-growth medicines. It works great with coconut oil.

How to use:

  • Crush a few cloves of garlic.
  • Add coconut oil to it and boil the mixture for a few minutes.
  • Let it cool down a bit and then massage it on your scalp.
  • Leave it on for half an hour and then wash your hair.
  • Do this twice a week.

If the above herbal remedies will take some time for better results, if you want quick re-growth of hair transplant is only the option but the cost of hair transplant is much higher as compared to herbal treatments.
