VTech Lil’ Critters Huggable Hippo Teether Review

My world is currently filled with drool, crying and “gumming”. My 6 month old is teething and may sprout his first tooth any day now! Many of the plush toys that were his favourites are no longer wanted if they don’t provide some gum relief.

His new favourite toy is the VTech Lil’ Critters Huggable Hippo Teether ($12.99). This cute little plush hippo has crinkly arms that he loves to touch and an easy to push heart button that lights up and activates songs and phrases. I love watching him touch the button and stare at the heart while listening to what the hippo is saying to him! His favourite part of the toy is the two teethers of course. They are textured and flexible and he loves to gum on them all day. It’s very lightweight and easy for him to hold and hug so it’s the perfect toy to bring on the go too.

The teething stage brings about the need to clean toys more often. Probably the best part of this toy for parents is that the electronic part of the hippo just pops right now so you can clean the rest of the hippo thoroughly and easily without worrying about any damage. I also love that the sound can be turned off so that when he falls asleep in the stroller I can just push the switch and not worry that the sound will wake him up.

This toy is for babies of all ages – from 0+. I can see my son loving this toy for awhile – especially since babies teethe on and off for a really long time!
