Naptime or Nighttime: Top Tips for Wound Up Moms Who Want to Relax

Let’s face it: moms can get stressed out. Between work and caring for the kids, moms can do as much in a day as other do in three. It can leave any mom feeling so exhausted, even early on in the evening, that you may want to take a nap or just call it a day and go to bed.

But if you don’t want to call it quits just yet, there are other things you can do to relax after a work-filled day. Here are a few quick tips that you can use to find a little relaxation whenever you need it to help you get through your days.

Yoga

Exercise is one of the best things you can do for your body, especially if you’re feeling stressed, but you may not want to go for a run or drive to the gym. Yoga is a great alternative to a workout and it will help you relax just as well.

The best part is that you can get the benefits of yoga in just 15 minutes with a few easy poses. Yoga is great for increasing your flexibility as well as your muscle tone and balance. Yoga also focuses heavily on correct breathing techniques, so you can almost feel the stress melt away as you move slowly from one position to another in rhythm.

You don’t need any equipment for yoga — except maybe an inexpensive mat for comfort — and you can do it in any room in your house. After a few weeks, you should have the hang of it and be able to relax whenever you want.

Color

You may think of coloring as a children’s activity, but the childhood pastime has been increasing in popularity with adults over the last few years, for good reason. How can you feel stressed out when you’re doing something so simple yet so creative?

And with today’s technology, you can find an app, like the mandala coloring pages, that work on your mobile devices so you don’t even have to buy any supplies. This gives you the flexibility to color whenever and wherever you want, anytime you need a quick break. You can even share you work with your friends so you can earn their praises with a masterpiece!

Laugh

If you want to kill stress in a hurry, nothing works better than laughter. How can you possibly feel bad when you’re laughing so hard that you can’t even breath?

Everyone has a different sense of humor, so whenever you need a break, find something to make you laugh. This could be a phone call to an old friend or a funny movie that you haven’t seen in awhile. Whatever makes you laugh, take the time to involve it in your life. You’ll be surprised how much better you will feel after a good bout of laughter.

Try one of these relaxation tips the next time you want to relax.
