My first impression of the Glitter & Spice baby sleep bags was – do they come in adult sizing!? They are so cute and cosy with such beautiful patterns and designs. The style my little one Gavin is wearing is called ‘Adventure Awaits’ and has adorable little animals in hot air balloons all over it.
The sleep bags come in several patterns, colours, sizes and TOG ratings. TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade and measures how insulated the sleep bag is. Glitter & Spice sleep bags come in two different TOGs – 1.0 and 2.5. The ideal nursery temperature for a 1.0 TOG sleep bag is 21-23 degrees Celsius and a 2.5 TOG is recommended for 16-20 degrees Celsius. Since we are trying out this sleep bag in the summer when it’s warmer, Gavin wore the lighter 1.0 TOG, but we can’t wait to try the 2.5
TOG when the nights get a bit cooler. And did I mention it’s made out of 100% cotton?! Specifically: ultra-soft jersey cotton outer and lining (with polyester filling in 2.5 Tog)

When putting my little man Gav in the bag, I noticed some fantastic details that make this sleep bag so unique! The double snaps at the shoulders make the bag more secure on his little shoulders, and I wasn’t worried about him wiggling out of the bag during the night. The interior has no seams that can rub against his skin, causing him to be irritated during his sleep. There are also snaps under his arms, allowing this bag to fit him better and allowing the bag to grow with him. Hearing that Glitter & Spice is a Canadian Company also makes me love these sleep bags even more!
