Mom Approved Easy Overnight Curls

I used to be a professional stylist, so I know how to curl hair, and I know how to do it faster then the average woman. I am still a mom, with 500 million other things to do then curl my hair. BUT, I refuse to be a ponytail mom or a short hair mom. I will not cut my hair short because “it’s just easier” or always wear a simple ponytail because I “don’t have time”. Moms, we can look cute and it’s EASY!
Forget the oudated image of a housewife in curlers before bed….

I have tested many overnight curl methods, trying to find the right one. I have either had a really hard time sleeping on it and/or it looked like a hot mess in the morning. Rag ties was the worst offender for both of these categories.  Here is a method that works. There are tons of videos, but at the bottom is the youtube video I cam across, so I give it the credit it deserves.

First let me show you I have very straight hair. This is air dried from this morning. Don’t fret if you don’t have straight hair. Just means you have some extra work in blowing it straight first. ***For my advice that is missing from this video. DO NOT straighten your hair with an iron. Blow dry only. This affects the hold of the curl dramatically.

I put some mousse in it and brushed it quickly. Then as the video shows, you simply put a head band on and curl the hair in sections over the band.  The middle section becomes one large section looped over a few times. I left my bangs out, because they are shorter and I like them straighter anyways. ***More advice that’s not in the video, once the head band is in, push the hair up a slight bit. This will help it from being flat and give it a bit of volume.

Now it’s time to sleep my beauty. What I loved about this was that is was easy to sleep on. Didn’t hurt or pull and stayed in place completely. Also meant my hair was up for my to shower too! Another bonus? You might look a little silly, but not nearly as bad as rag ties or curlers, in case someone comes to the door.
