Dad & Baby (0-24M) Pop Up Class!

If you’re a Dad with a baby/toddler 0-24 months old and would love to get out and do something fun with your little one, meet some other Dads and learn about local programs/resources, please sign up to join us.

On Monday May 12 from 10AM-11AM we’ll be at Toronto Kids Physio (Eglinton/Laird) for an amazing Dads-only early literacy class with Meghan of “A Rhyme For That!”

For this class, participation is important. Be prepared to sing but do NOT worry about singing well, in time or in key or remembering any words! Show your little one that you donโ€™t have to be perfect to try! Plus, your voice is your babyโ€™s favourite no matter what ๐Ÿ™‚

About

โ€œA Rhyme for That!โ€ is a program designed for babies (under 2 years of age) and their caregivers with rhymes, songs, and stories to help you make the best of your time together everyday. Meghan, of โ€œA Rhyme for That!โ€ is the proud mom to two teenage daughters. She lives in the Davisville area of Toronto. After being an elementary classroom teacher and teacher-librarian (and a mom!), she has seen how exposing children to literacy right from the beginning benefits them in so many ways! โ€œA Rhyme for Thatโ€ will help caregivers have quality interactions with their children throughout their day and be their childโ€™s best first teacher by sharing lots and lots of language with them!

Best of all you can kick start your spring/summer by making some new Dad friends! Plan park play dates, schedule some local meet ups and talk all things Dad-life. Build your Dad Squad and make parenting just a bit more fun!

About Daddy & Baby Classes with Mommy Connections

Are you a new Dad unsure of how to go about building your network of support? Maybe you work from home with a flexible schedule and want to meet some other Dads in the same boat to meet with the kids at the park or a grab a coffee/drink with. Maybe you’ve looked to find some organizations that serve Dads and you’re coming up empty handed.

In Canada many mothers enjoy a year of maternity leave, which is why we offer weekday programs for moms and babies in the first 12-18 months. Our programs are a great way for Moms to find their village, bond with their babies and learn all about what their community has to offer them. But what about Dads?

Some Dads work from home or share in parental leave. Some Dads are facing parenting their child alone – challenges women can face, except Dads may face it with far fewer resources and support. At Mommy Connections Midtown we offer our programs (Mini Movers and Tots) to Dads as well. This fall though we’d like to see how many Dads we have in the community who might be interested in meet ups, events or even shorter sessions of our popular programming – but geared just towards Dads.

As modern families change and our work situations and division of childcare duties also shifts post pandemic, we’d like to evolve our programming to be inclusive of all families.

Because Dads need a village too!
