Even in Alberta in late November, a sunshade is a must. Luckily I was given the opportunity to review the Brica Sun Safety Shade by Munchkin.
Installation was straightforward. The Sun Safety™ Shade is equipped with both window clips and suctions cups, and simple instructions for both are included on the packaging. I had no trouble installing the shade using the window clips. I simply rolled down the window about 6 inches and attached the clips, which adjust according to the shape of your window. It did however, take several tries to get all the suction cups to stick without the window clips, which may be more problematic in winter months. Once the clips were installed, I simply pulled the bottom suction cup down gently and secured it to your window.
The sun shade has a button that retracts, enabling it to stay installed in the vehicle when not in use, which is a bonus. Simply press the button and it retracts back to the top. It does retract with some force, so I would not recommend allowing your children to play with the button.
The fabric mesh of the shade provides sufficient sun shade and heat protection, but because of the size and shape of our windows, it wasn’t wide enough to provide full coverage. This meant that my daughter was still squinting at times throughout our drive.
The Sun Shade is equipped with a White Hot® indicator that turns white when the car is too hot. This feature is fantastic for hot summer days.
Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy-to-use sunshade that offers peace of mind and sun protection for your little ones. A set of two Brica® White Hot® Sun Safety™ Shades by Munchkin retails for $13.00 online.
