Have you bought any back-to-school supplies?

One item that we’re already getting a lot of use out of is our @myfunkins lunch bag. I love that it’s insulated, but completely machine washable - perfect for sandy afternoon snacks at the beach.

They come in variety of fun patterns, but my ‘too-cool-for-school’ son prefers all black now 🙂

We’re thrilled to welcome Robyn to our Mommy Connections family! Robyn is the new director for @mommyconnectionscapebreton . She will be hosting classes in Cape Breton starting this August. Read all about Robyn and her ‘spicy meatball’

Hey there Cape Breton Mamas (and mamas-to-be!) I’m Robyn and I’m thrilled to be taking over as the director of the Cape Breton chapter of Mommy Connections.
For those of you I have yet the pleasure to meet, I live in East Bay with my “person” and our daughter, Lakelyn. She is 16 months old and just the sweetest and spiciest meatball you’ll ever meet! She makes me feel like the luckiest mom in the world (and the most exhausted mom in the world, the toddler years- amiright?!) every single day. When I first became a mother, my life and my days were so full in so many good ways I had never before known, but I quickly discovered it can also feel lonely sometimes too (despite never actually being able to be alone once you have kids!) We started participating in Mommy Connections ‘Mom and Baby’ program when my little one was just about 2 months old. I was still fairy new to the area so it was really nice to be able to sample some of the programs and activities being offered locally for moms and babies on our beautiful island. But mostly is was really nice to be able to connect with other like minded mamas who had babies similar in age to my daughter, going through all the highs and lows beside us and were always there to cheer along or cry with you every step of the way. The connections built through the program were so genuine they continued well beyond the 8 weeks and even to this day, it really does take a village y’all and I’m so blessed to have mine!
Attending Mommy Connections was easily a highlight of my parenting journey to date. I remember sitting in my second ‘Mom and Baby’ program...(Continued in comments)

What a beautiful summer we have been having! But all that sunshine means we’re working our way through a lot of sunscreen. One of our favourites for my son is this all natural mineral sunscreen from @the_green_beaver It’s chemical free, but also water resistant - perfect for beach kids!

Summer va-cay at the cottage, and the mosquitoes are intense 🦟😬

Does anyone else still do the old ‘toothpaste on the bite trick’ to stop the itch?!

This year I was more prepared with Dapis Gel from @boironcanada It helps with the itching and pain from bites. It also stopped the swelling from a random 🕷bite yesterday (oh the joys of cottage life!)
