Overall Review

• Installation was relatively easy
• Solid construction (gate is metal as opposed to plastic)
• Would recommend the gate to other parents

When we opened the box there were 3 small packages and the gate itself. The instructions themselves were very IKEA-esque (pictures only; however there was a link in the instructions for a YouTube video! Awesome!! It is helpful to watch the video before you start the installation. The link that is provided in the instructions just takes you to the Munchkin homepage so you do have to search for the instructional video once you’re there. The gate mounts right into the drywall (not via pressure) so the positive is that it gives added security and strength; however the negative – you drill holes in your walls (however these are always easy to patch up once you no longer need the gate).

 PROS

• Well made, sturdy metal!
• Smooth operation which is really nice
• Handy template for mounting
• Easy installation which is a huge bonus!

CONS

• Instructions (alone) are not all that clear (only pictures)
• Best to refer to video prior to installation
• Catch opening is two step process (this could also be considered a pro as it makes it more difficult for a small child to figure out how to open it)

Overall, I would definitely recommend this gate to any new parents. The installation took about 45 minutes and the gate itself is very solid. There are no worries in this household of a bad tumble down the stairs.
