Get back into a fitness routine this Spring with Mommy Connections York Region!

Are you looking to get moving again following the birth of your baby – but don’t know what’s safe or where to start? We’ve got you covered.

Our Mama Moves program offers 6 weeks of different fitness classes  – from Mom and Baby Yoga to Strength Training and everything in between – designed especially for new moms looking to get more active and connect with other like-minded moms.

Best of all — you bring your baby to this class! We offer a fun and low-pressure way to get out of the house, socialize, and see what’s possible for you in the way of postpartum fitness options.

We meet from 11am to 12pm on Thursdays starting May 21st to June 25th at various locations around Richmond Hill. Each fitness class is 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes to informally socialize with the group.

This class is designed with non-walking babies in mind and is best suited to moms who are between 6 weeks and 12 months postpartum.

 

Your $169 registration fee includes:

  • Six fitness-forward classes led by local experts; all of which are appropriate for all fitness levels

 

Why Mama Moves?

Mama Moves is a fun, low-pressure way for new moms (who have been cleared for moderate exercise) to ease back into a fitness routine. All of our instructors are trained to work with postpartum women and understand how to protect your abdominals and pelvic floor.

While some classes are more intense and others more relaxing, all of them offer options and modifications to accommodate all fitness levels.

Our hope is that you’ll come as you are, move with us to the best of your abilities, and discover what you love!

Frequently Asked Questions

 

Q: How old should my baby be when I register?

 

A: The ideal time to do this program is when your baby is between 6 weeks to 12 months, but our guidelines are flexible.  If your baby is older than 12 months, please check out our Mini Movers programs. Mamas must be cleared by their physician for physical activity following the birth of your baby.

 

Q: Can I attend just a few classes?

A: Single sessions are not available. A huge focus of our program is community building, which can only be created when a group is consistent from start to finish.

 

Q: How many moms are in each class?

 

A: We aim to keep classes at or below 12 participants to foster a cozy, community feel.

 

Q: When will I find out the schedule of activities? Are the classes types/activities guaranteed?

 

A: You will receive a schedule via email before your session begins. A sample schedule is available above.  We cannot guarantee that a particular type of class (like yoga, strength training) will be a part of any given session. Class topics change slightly from session to session and are subject to local experts’ availability. We can, however, promise you a great mix of things!

 

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Please note, registration cancellations are subject to a $30 administration fee, view our full cancellation policy here. A minimum of 8 participants are needed in order to run this class. In the event that we need to cancel due to low registration, you will receive a full refund.
