Hi Mamas & Mamas to be,

I wanted to introduce myself- I’m Nita, the Director for Mommy Connections North York!

I moved to the Yonge and Sheppard area in 2013 and have fallen in love with the walkability of this area.  If you live in the area you know that you can go get your driver’s license renewed, eyebrows done and eat lunch at a trendy restaurant all within walking distance. When I had my first daughter, Roma, in July 2018 I was looking for baby programming in the community but I was surprised when there were limited options. Roma was a summer baby and it was easy but as the winter hit my close mommy friends were not within my area and that was hard!

My second daughter, Mila was born in November 2020 in the middle of not only a pandemic but another lockdown and winter.  This of course was a recipe for disaster.  I felt isolated, sleep deprived and trapped. I went through post partum anxiety and depression and became very socially anxious.

I couldn’t recognize the person in the mirror.  I’m usually a very social person and love to connect with people.

IT. WAS. HARD.

When they say it takes a village to raise kids, it’s true it really does!  I realized I needed to make a change and set out to bring baby programming into the area.  I came across Mommy Connections and knew this was the right program for the area where there are tons of local experts and businesses catered for moms and babies.

Professionally, I have an MBA and am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach working with moms returning to work after maternity leave.  I left the corporate world and my role in marketing in 2015  to start my own coaching practice.  I love empowering moms to reach their full potential!
