Summer time in our house is all about keeping busy. We try to jam pack every weekend with family fun to make up for the cold blustery winter spent indoors. Here is a list of my family’s favorite events and festivals to avoid hearing the dreaded “I’m bored”!

Red Deer 5km Foam Fest June 20 – The latest and greatest, fun for all ages (kids 8 and over) family fun run there is. Featuring 16 obstacles including mud, water and of course FOAM! There is even a kids zone for the little ones. For more details and to sign up visit http://www.5kfoamfest.ca/
Ponoka Stampede June 25 to July 1 – Canada’s largest pro rodeo. Chuckwagons, rodeos, a parade, midway, concerts and more! For full details and to buy tickets visit http://ponokastampede.com/
Canada Day July 1 – Events, activities and entertainment all day long at Bower Ponds
Smokin’ Summer Days July 11 9am to 5pm – There is no better way to spend a hot summer day than to head to Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson and join the party! It will be so hot even the Fire Department will be there. Bring the kids down to explore a fire truck, enjoy a BBQ lunch, or bounce in the bouncy castles.
Westerner Days Fair and Exposition July 15 – 19 – The best part of summer in Central Alberta has to be Westerner Days! With pancake breakfasts daily, BBQ’s, a parade, concerts and a midway it is the best reason to take summer holidays. Click here for more details http://westernerdays.ca/
