Movies for Mommies Experience

It was a rainy spring day when I decided to try out Movies for Mommies at Galaxy Cinemas Barrie. I  enjoyed getting out regularly to watch movies whether it was with family or friends. When I heard about the option to watch movies with my little one I could not wait for the experience.

Timing: Movies start at 1pm each Thursday.

Movies for Mommies: Alternates weeks with Stars and Strollers. However, when it is a Movies for Mommies week, with your purchased ticket you’re welcomed at the theatre door with your host greeting you. There are some samples, discounts, and even sometimes vendors which you get to have a sample experience prior to the movie screening.

This particular day when I went, I was entered into a draw and given some great samples.

Setting:  When you purchase your ticket you get to select where you will be seated in the theatre. There is also a stroller parking location where you can leave your stroller (for safety reasons strollers cannot be left inside the theatre). The sound is reduced to protect the little ones ears, and lighting is slightly dimmed which makes it easy to navigate changing diapers or feeding little ones. Another great bonus is there was a stocked changing station in the theatre.

Overall, it was an inviting space where it was lovely being able to watch a newly released show. Babies and toddlers can babble, talk, cry  and no one will be bothered by it. My babe spent most of the movie babbling to a baby behind her, and then slept for the last bit of the movie.

I highly recommend the experience whether you go solo with babe or with another mama for a movie date.
