The Magic of the Clorox Toilet Wand!

05/13/2016

I had a chance recently to try out  the Clorox Disinfecting Toilet Wand.  I know this is gross, but I purposely let my toilets get super dirty in order to truly test this product out to its full ability!20160513_103510[1]

The starter kit I received has a Storage Caddy, the Wand and 6 Cleaning Heads in the pack.  The caddy was super easy to snap together, the wand is really light and easy to use, the cleaning sponges just click right in and away you go.  I found it worked much better than a traditional toilet brush as it gets into the nooks and crannies where the grossness resides.. under the bowl rim, deep in the bottom of the bowl.. you get the picture.   As soon as the spongy cleaning head hits the water, it suds up and goes to work!

20160513_104144There’s a little button you push on the wand handle to release the cleaning sponge right into the trash bin.  No need to touch anything or deal with drippy messy clean up.  AND VOILA!  It’s a germophobe’s dream come true!!20160513_114558

For myself, I found that it did a decent job BUT I live in an area that has very hard water.  Hard water stains is my reality and they don’t come up without a lot of elbow grease and special scrubbing products.  I found as I was scrubbing with the sponge head I was using, it did start to separate from the wand stick, perhaps TOO much elbow grease?  20160513_104135Probably user error, but need to make note of it.  It still didn’t affect the cleaning power, I was just worried about it coming right off and falling into the toilet bowl.  That would make for a bad day in my books!  And the cleaning head really did not help to lift the hard water stains so I will still have to go back and scrub those areas with another product to get them out.  But as far as disinfecting and cleaning majority of the germs and filth, it did a great job!  Sure beats using the yucky toilet brush.. time to throw that thing away!

The Clorox Disinfecting ToiletWand Disposable Toilet Cleaning System retails for $7.99.  This gets you the starter kit consisting of the storage caddy, wand and 6 cleaning heads. The ToiletWand Refills (6 in a pack) retail for $3.69.   Great value and for the convenience it’s definitely well worth it!Spongy heads CLorox

They are available at several Canadian retailers including Walmart, Extra Foods, RCWC, Loblaws, Superstore, Dominion, Fortinos, Provigo, YIG and Zehrs stores.

You will now love cleaning those toilets!!
