Join Mommy Connections and Emergency Response Training (ERT) for a Baby/Child CPR & First Aid
training workshop! This non-certification informative course consists of New Red Cross Standards, runs approximately 2 hours in length and finishes when participants feel confident with their CPR & First aid skills.
The Baby/Child CPR & First Aid workshop includes:
-baby/child CPR
-choking emergencies and common potential choking hazards for children & infants
-understanding SIDS, sudden infant death syndrome
-anaphylactic shock & epi pen usage/protocol
-severe allergies – what to look for and what to avoid
-treating falls – signs & symptoms for concussions
-fevers and febrile seizures (optional)
-accessing EMS – 911
-question/answer first aid session
-after course email and phone forum open to any participants with first aid questions
The cost is only $45 (plus HST) per person. The class takes place on Saturday April 8th from 10 to noon at Urban Park Playland at 212 Earl Stewart Drive, Aurora
The course will be taught by Valerie Wood, a sought after instructor in the GTA, Toronto First Responder, and owner of ERT-CPR. Her teaching style makes the seriousness of the topic interesting, engaging and memorable. You will leave with the security, peace of mind and knowledge to jump into action in the event of an emergency, the whole purpose of doing these workshops.
In our classes, babies are welcome, but you may find it easier to concentrate if you’re able to make alternate arrangements for child care.You also get to come back for a free 2nd Refresher course anytime within 12 months of the initial workshop.

This is ideal for parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and caregivers – anyone looking after your child who needs the skills to save them in a choking incident or other serious situation.
