Is your toddler beyond busy and you need to get out of the house? Are you running out of ideas to keep them entertained? Do you want them to socialize with others? Or maybe you also have a new baby at home and you’re looking for fun activities that can accommodate them both? Then Travelling Tots is perfect for your family!

Each week, you (or another parent/caregiver/grandparent) have the opportunity to explore a local venue, program, service, or participate in an activity alongside your child, such as the wildlife park, the library, the fire station, the airport, etc. Experience their excitement while meeting and connecting with other parents/caregivers with similar aged children!

We’ll meet Friday mornings at various locations in the CBRM around 10:30. The activities usually only take an hour, but we include the extra class time to allow for late arrivals and early departures—we understand life with toddlers! This is a 6-week program designed for toddlers from ~2-4 years (before primary).

Included in your $140(+tax) registration fee is:

  • Six activities or adventures with any admission/supplies covered for # of children registered* and 1 adult (when applicable)
  • A free professional picture of you and your child(ren), taken by local photographer Wendy Gouthro (Edgewood Studio) with the option to purchase your additional photos or your full gallery at a special Mommy Connections rate
  • A private Facebook group so that you can continue to connect with other parents
  • A fun goodie bag just for your little one(s)!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What if I’m home with a toddler AND a baby? Can my baby tag along?
A: You bet! Babies under 12 months are most welcome (at no extra cost, so please select ‘1 child participating’ from menu), so long as they are comfortable in a bucket seat or baby carrier for certain activities. Travelling Tots is a great, supportive way to get used to being out and about with both your toddler and baby at once.

Q: What if I have two+ toddlers? Can I bring all of them?
A: Absolutely. Families with more than one participating tot in the program will save 50% off the second+ registration(s). As long as they are over 12 months/walking (babies under 12 months are free and do not need to “register”), or not yet in primary, they are welcome to join if program space allows.

Q: What if I want to participate in two different programs with two different children? Is there a discount?
A: Yes! Those joining multiple different programs during the same round (ex: Travelling Tots PLUS Mom to Be, Mom & Baby, or Mini Movers) can apply coupon code MULTICLASSBONUS10 to save $10! Apply during the same transaction with both products OR to the second product if purchasing separately/later. If a class gets cancelled, the refund will be revoked on the cancelled program. This does NOT apply to previous+current programs that are consecutive rounds.

Q: My child is home with a nanny/other caregiver. Can they attend together?
A: Yes! Travelling Tots may attend with any type of caregiver (parent, grandparent, nanny, etc.) so long as that person can make their way to our various class locations. Registration is for the # of children + 1 adult per class. If you AND another caregiver would like to attend any/multiple, please ask in advance if the location(s) can accommodate. You will have to pay for any additional admission fees for activities outside your paid spaces, when applicable, and additional space may be limited.

Q: How old should my toddler be when I register?
A: The ideal time to do this program is when your toddler is between 2 and 4 years old (pre-school). We can accommodate toddlers 18+ months, but do recommend waiting until age 2 if possible to get the most out of the program. They should be comfortably walking to participate in the activities. NOTE: If your child has developmental mobility issues, they are certainly welcome in the program based on their age, skills aside. They can participate in a stroller, wheelchair, etc. as needed, though our locations may not always be fully accessible.

Q: Can I attend just a few classes?
A: Single sessions are not available. A huge focus of our program is community-building, which can only be created when a group is consistent from start to finish. We understand things come up and you may not be able to attend all classes, but you should plan to/be able to attend when you sign up. If you know you will miss more than 2 classes (for example, due to a trip) we encourage not taking up a program spot and waiting for the next round.

Q: Can I join a program after the start date?
A: If there are any spaces remaining after a program begins, you can join late! The cost will be adjusted for you as a sale so you can register as usual. We’ll handle the rest and get you up to speed! Once we are more than 2 weeks into a program, please reach out first before registering. You may still be able to join, but the fee will only be prorated up to 2 classes.

Q: How many people are in each class?
A: We aim to keep classes around 10-12 participants [caregiver+child(ren)] to foster a cozy, community feel. This may be more (up to 14) or less (as few as 8), depending on a program’s demand, but we do our best to stick to the sweet spot!

Q: When will I find out the schedule of topics/activities? Are the class types/activities guaranteed?
A: You will receive an official schedule before your session begins. A tentative agenda is available above, but is subject to change. We cannot guarantee that a particular topic/presenter will be a part of any given session. Class topics change from session to session for variety and are subject to local experts’ availability. We can, however, promise you a great mix of things!

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please note, registration cancellations are subject to a $30 administration fee, if applicable. View our full cancellation policy here. A minimum of 8 participants are needed in order to run this class. In the event that we need to cancel due to low registration, you will receive a full refund. You will be given the opportunity to be placed on the waitlist for the next series.
