Fresh, Affordable, and Fun: My Inspired Go Experience!

I was recently offered the opportunity to try out and review Inspired Go – a Canadian company that offers affordable and delicious salads delivered right to your door. I adore their name as it ties directly into their mission to inspire people to live their best lives through healthy eating! 

My first step was ordering online and it was super easy. As a “geriatric millennial”, sometimes I find online shopping overwhelming, okay. They have a wide variety of salads to choose from, but not so many that it felt impossible to choose. I ended up ordering 6 different salads including the Thai Lemongrass, Wild West, and their Lettuce Wrap salad, plus a few sides of roasted chicken for extra protein. They launch new recipes every week, which means you’ll always have something new to try! Their salads start out as low as $10 and adding chicken is only $4. Their minimum order is $40 and shipping is $6.95. Shipping is free on all orders $65 or more. If you’re not able to commit to $40-$65, then split an order with a friend, neighbour, or family member! 

If you like predictability and meal planning, then you will want to check out their subscription service. You save 5% on your orders and can cancel any time. 

In terms of portion size, I ate most salads at lunchtime – when I really struggle to eat something other than crackers and cheese. Knowing I had a fridge full of unique salads actually had me giddily looking forward to lunch, almost as much as my latest puzzle! I also used some of the salads as a side at dinnertime which was a great way to encourage the kids (okay, kid, my youngest won’t touch most vegetables) to eat vegetables without me having to do any of the prep work!

As a busy single mom and business owner, despite my best efforts, sometimes my attempts to meal prep just don’t succeed. Having Inspired Go in my back pocket is reassuring, especially for those busy weeks. I really loved that they were ready to eat and required no cooking on my part – it saved me time and reduced my stress!  

I love how they organize the salads, so most ingredients and the dressing are separate and they are sealed for freshness, lasting 5 – 6 days in the fridge. Each salad has a sticker on the top indicating the type of salad and any allergens – this came in handy when I was bringing dinner over to my sister’s house and needed to make sure it was dairy and gluten-free! 

Inspired Go currently delivers to several major Canadian cities, including Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Mississauga and Etobicoke, plus smaller cities nearby. They deliver 2 – 3 days out of 7 to each area they service. Edmonton area delivery days are Sundays and Mondays, so when you are ready to order, be sure to check the delivery days for your area.I ordered my salads on a Monday, so the earliest I was able to receive them was Sunday. 

I’m an eco-geek. I shop at thrift stores, reuse and repurpose everything I possibly can, and question pretty much everything. Yes, I am exhausted! I will admit that my eco-anxiety flared when I first saw the salad containers, but I was pleased to learn that their packaging is made from recycled materials and is actually recyclable.* Even more exciting to me though, is that they are dedicated to working towards fully compostable packaging!
