As I sit here and type, a gigantic pile of two-day old unfolded clean clothes awaits me. I’m a mom and laundry is my nemesis. If I could afford it, I would wear an outfit once and then donate it to YESS. Unfortunately, that just isn’t in the cards.
I would rather clean bathrooms, vacuum, or scoop the cat litter than do laundry. Just thinking about it makes me want to have a nap.
Below is a look at the painful laundry process in our house. Perhaps you can relate.
Step 1: Pick week-old laundry off floor and take to laundry room.
Step 2: Get interrupted.
Step 3: Run out of relatively clean clothes and recall the laundry you were about to wash last week.
Step 4: Start washing machine.
Step 5: Get sidetracked and forget laundry in washer.
Step 6: Remember laundry in washer the next day and rewash.
Step 7: Later that day, remember laundry and put in dryer.
Step 8: Remember full dryer at midnight and, too exhausted to fold, restart dryer.
Step 9: The next day remove clean laundry from dryer and leave in a giant unfolded pile either, a) on your bed, b) on your floor, or c) squished back into the laundry basket.
Step 10: Depending where you left the pile of clean clothes, put away today, tomorrow, or next week. Folding optional.
Sigh. Those clothes aren’t going to fold themselves. Away I go.
Do you follow any of these steps?
