Fisher Price Standing up to the Hands of Time

I know we may not want to think about Christmas! At least I don’t, we aren’t even done with summer yet! Right summer? But I bet there are some out there that are done their shopping. Good for you.
I find though now with three kids and having to live more on a budget that thinking about Christmas comes sooner and my money must stretch farther. You know I am  looking for something that will stand the test of time.Something that is going to make it worth me purchasing cause all three of my children are going to play with it. And either I will be worth selling (I know we are just taking about toys but trying to make that money stretch right!) or that I can give to someone so they can enjoy it too. I am not looking for something that will be thrown out in six months cause it is broken or something that they will loose interest in. I am looking for let’s see hmmmm probably something that is Fisher Price.

Do you want to know why I think Fisher Price will withhold all of these expectations? Because they have maintained and improved their standards for over thirty years. Do you want to know why I know this? Because my children still play with my Fisher Price Barn Set when they head on over to Grandma and Papas. That Fisher Price Barn Set was bought for me by my parents when I was two. My sister and brother also received Fisher Price play sets. Now all the grandchildren have the luxury of still enjoying these sets today! And yes they look a little weathered(who wouldn’t after years of children playing) but yet they are still worth playing with. That imaginary play never gets old when you are a young child. So not for one moment would I hesitate to purchase Fisher Price play sets for my children. Actually after I looked around my house many things did say Fisher Price. And they were the things that have been loved and played with the most. Such as the ABC riding car, the singing ABC bear and of course the Little People Barn. Those are the ones that always get fought over when kids come over to play.

I felt like is was Christmas we opened our boxes of Fisher Price.  We joyously, giggling looked at all the boxes. Then each one picked one that they thought they would like to check out. And I must say it was a hard decision that took some expert convincing on my end because there were a lot of superb choices.

My son is 5 and loves to play pretend. As soon as he saw the box he said hey that’s Jake, I had no idea he even knew who he was. He was pumped to use the “Magical” teiki as it transforms the hideout, exposing water cannon and lifting the crows nest above the hideout. Jake climbed up the ladder and had a nap all during quiet time. Even the next morning my son came out carrying the hideout, ready to play again.

My 3 year old daughter of course choose the “Little People Happy Sounds Home,”  the sounds are quite, no surprise, “happy” and helped lead her through her play of putting baby to bed, talking on the phone and going to the bathroom. Everyone wanted to check out the house in fact “Jake” came over to visit, sliding on in and visiting on the balcony of the home. A great set that I believe any Tot would love! What kid doesn’t want to play make believe home?

Then let’s talk about my youngest who is 21months the “Laugh & Learn Stride to Ride Puppy” was his choice. Or at least that is what the older two suggested! Yet another hit. And everyone wanted to take a ride, and of course when my niece came to visit it was the “Puppy “ that caused the most disagreement, on whose turn it was. The “puppy” is just darn cute. His head turns as the wheels roll along, again singing. And they weren’t annoying songs and had a great learning element to it.

All three of these toys I would consider ready to stand the test of time in anyone’s toy chest. And like I said with Christmas around the corner I would definitely suggest Fisher Price as your first choice if you are looking for quality, worth your money and that will stand the test of time.
