So here is the link… http://www.mommyconnections.ca/leduc/2013/07/30/comparing-childcare-options/
I stopped by one day without even making an appointment and I was welcomed and invited to come and take a tour. This was the first sign that this place is ready for parents to stop by and check in at any time. As you enter you see the preschool children playing with their caregivers. Caregivers are down at their level offering assistance if needed. The options for these children was great, from dress up to educational computer games to building blocks, these kids had it all! Deb, the manager, explained to me that each month had a theme they then built their learning and playing around the themes, focusing on the four domains of social, physical, cognitive and sensory. Off to the side in another room is the after school care. Of course I was not able to observe it in action. But I was able to see that even these kids had a place to come in and chill before their parents picked them up, do homework, chart their progress and play. I then headed down the hall to have a peak in at the baby room, there, a smaller room with the little babes and everything at their height and focused on their needs. Same went for the Tots rooms, the potties even in the older Tot’s room were just their height to succeed in potty training. At the end of the hallway is the outdoor play area, a great place to head outside to enjoy the outdoors in a safe environment.
Over all I was impressed with the organization and set up the facility. I love that they focus on development of the children and offer parents the opportunity to track the children’s interests and needs. I also love that a registered dietician is planning meals that are healthy and focused on the children. As a parent you are able to look on the entire month and know what your child had eaten that day. I had even met the one site cook preparing the meals. This means that she is focused on creating fantastic meals and the caregivers are focused on providing fantastic childcare!
If you are on the hunt for childcare and need somewhere to start, this is a great place to go and have a tour set your bench mark for all other tours. See what they offer and if this would be a great fit for your family.
