My must have baby items

11/15/2013

I often hear moms talking about their top baby items and it made me think about mine.  I have made a list of 6 of my favourites:

1. Fisher Price Swing

swingMy son is 9 and a half months, over 20lbs and he still loves his swing!  It will be a sad day when I have to retire it.  He is using it less and less, but he will still have naps in it and he knows this is quiet relax time.  One of the first thing he smiled at was the mobile on his swing. I wish they made these in adult size!

2. Boppy Pillow

pillowWhen I was pregnant and registering for gifts, I didn’t include any breastfeeding items or bottles, because I didn’t know what would work for us.  A friend of mine gave me this pillow at my shower and she it was one of her favourite items and now I see why.  I was lucky and breastfeeding came very natural for us.  At the beginning, we used this all the time!  Newborns feed for a long time, they like to be close and cuddle.  This pillow made it so easy and comfortable.  I even brought it to the movie theatre when we went to a Stars and Strollers show, to help my little man relax.  We still use this pillow now.

3. Fisher Price Bouncy Chair

chairI received the swing and the bouncy chair at my shower and everyone was saying that I will never have to hold my baby! haha.  But they have different purposes.  I keep the bouncy chair upstairs and this is where I put my little man when I want to have a shower or keep him entertained when I want to get something done upstairs.  The music is different and has a vibrating setting.  Now that he is older, he loves that he can bounce himself in the chair.  I have even brought it outside, so he can have a comfy spot on our porch to watch what is going on.

4. Muslin Blankets

blanketsWe use these blankets all the time.  I love that they are lightweight and breathable.  He can still feel cozy without overheating and I feel safe leaving these in his crib. They are super soft as well.

5. First Price Aquarium

aquariumWe were first introduced to this aquarium when my son was sick and admitted into the hospital when he was two months old.  It is so nice that the hospital has items like this.  I can put my son in his crib, put on his aquarium and he will fall asleep on his own.  Some baby music gets annoying when you hear it over and over again, but I think the aquarium music is actually very nice. He now knows how to turn it on and off himself.

6. O Ball

oballAlthough the most common baby toy is probably the Sophie giraffe, the first toy my son ever showed an interest in was his o ball.  Soft, flexible, easy to grab and made noise.  I attached it to the car seat with rings and this was our go to toy for a long time.

I hope you enjoyed my list.  I would love to hear your must have baby items! Maybe now I will come up with a list of baby items that I didn’t use.  Stay tuned! 🙂 Thanks.

Agree 100%. I recently bought the aquarium and it’s a life saver at night!
