When we first moved into our new home, my son’s room quickly became one of those “we’ll get to it later” spaces. Between unpacking, adjusting to a new routine, and then finding out there was going to be a baby number two (hello first trimester sickness!), it was easy to keep pushing it off.
Recently, it’s started to feel very important to finally give him a space that feels like his. With another little on the way, I wanted to make sure he still had something that was just for him – somewhere he could feel comfortable, safe, and excited to spend time.
Most of that push also came from the reality that his current bed was in pretty bad condition. It had served its purpose, and was now, well… quite literally falling apart. It was definitely time!
Mimi Beds has definitely helped us in transforming the space and providing a safer, more durable, and playful sanctuary for him.

The ARY House Bed design has that simple, Montessori-inspired structure that feels both functional and playful at the same time. It’s not just a place to sleep, it’s something that can naturally become part of his environment for play, reading, and quiet time which was exactly what we were hoping for.
The low-to-the-ground frame also makes it incredibly easy for toddlers to climb in and out independently, which aligns so well with encouraging confidence and autonomy at this stage.
One of my biggest concerns going into this was durability, especially after what we were dealing with before.
The ARY House Bed is made from solid New Zealand pine wood with a non-toxic, child-safe finish. It gives a sense of immediate peace of mind in terms of both quality and safety.
Once everything was assembled we felt the difference! The frame feels solid, the materials feel well-made, and it doesn’t have that “temporary furniture” feel. It genuinely feels like something built to last through multiple stages from adventurous (if you know him you know I mean ADVENTUROUS) toddler years into early childhood.
When it comes to stability, this was probably the most noticeable change for us.
With his old bed, every movement came with creaking or shifting and if you have a toddler, you know is not ideal for bedtime routines that are already challenging in itself. With the ARY House Bed, everything feels grounded and secure. The added structure, including optional guardrails and a full frame design, creates a much more stable sleep environment than what we were dealing with.
It’s one of those things you don’t fully appreciate until you experience the difference and it immediately made the room feel safer and more put together.

Redoing our little guy’s room ended up being about more than just replacing a broken bed.
It was about making sure that, in the middle of preparing for a new baby, he still feels grounded in his own space and that all the preparation he’s seeing around him isn’t just for his new sibling. We’re building somewhere that feels comforting, familiar, and exciting all at once.
The ARY House Bed helped create that shift. His room now feels intentional, cozy, and truly his.
If you’re in that transition phase – moving from crib to toddler bed, or simply upgrading something that’s
no longer working this is one of
those pieces that blends design, durability, and real-life function in a way that actually makes sense for families.
It’s not just about how it looks (though it is nice, don’t get me wrong!). It’s about how it holds up, how it supports your child, and how it fits into your everyday life. I’d highly suggest shopping local and checking out Mimi Beds.
And for us, it’s made all the difference!
