EverNest Baby Clothing: Why Intentional Baby Clothes Matter More With Your Second Baby

As a second-time boy mom, baby clothes look a little different this time around.

With my first, I bought all the tiny outfits, matching sets, and adorable “just because” pieces. But by the time baby number two arrived, reality looked a little more practical — bins and bins of hand-me-downs from big brother, sleepers that had already been washed a hundred times, and clothes sorted by size in the basement waiting for their next round.

And honestly? I love hand-me-downs. There’s something really sweet about watching my second baby wear pieces his older brother once lived in.

But I also realized there was a gap. 

Not necessarily a need for an entire new wardrobe, but a few intentional pieces that felt special for him too. My newest little also suffers from very sensitive skin.  That’s what drew me to EverNest⁠.

The brand focuses on soft, natural baby clothing made with materials like cotton and lyocell, plus plant-based dyes and breathable fabrics. As a mom who has become way more conscious about what touches my babies’ skin, that immediately stood out to me.

The first thing I noticed about EverNest was how calm and intentional everything feels. The colors are soft and neutral, the styles are simple, and nothing feels overly trendy or flashy. The pieces feel timeless, the kind of clothing that focuses more on comfort than aesthetics alone.

And the fabric? It feels incredibly soft.

Not that overly processed, synthetic softness some baby clothes have, but the kind of softness that feels breathable and gentle. The type of clothing you reach for constantly because it just feels good for your baby to be in.

I also really appreciate their focus on more natural materials and plant-based dyes. Babies spend basically their entire lives in their clothes, especially during those early months, so choosing fabrics that feel cleaner and gentler matters to me now more than ever.

What I love most, though, is the idea of intentional pieces.

Because babies outgrow clothes so fast. Especially between newborn and one year old, it feels like you barely fold one size before moving into the next. With my second son already having so many hand-me-downs waiting for him, I’m not looking to constantly shop.

But adding a few beautiful, high-quality pieces into the rotation makes this season feel a little more personal.

It fills that small gap between practicality and sentiment.

The reality is, second babies often get less “new.” Less shopping, fewer milestone outfits, fewer unnecessary purchases. And while they absolutely do not need more stuff, I still love having a few pieces that feel chosen specifically for him.

Overall, EverNest feels like a brand made for moms who value softness, simplicity, and intentional living over excess. It’s not about buying everything new. Rather, it’s about choosing a few meaningful pieces that make everyday moments feel special while they last.

Because babyhood is short. And somehow, even shorter the second time around.
