We’re so excited about our upcoming session at Sprouts starting in two short weeks. This time around we have all new presenters and are hoping we get a lot of returning Moms back to join us. You can register for the class here.
We’re excited about our line up of speakers. One topic is better than the other. So far our lineup of speakers and presentation topics are as follows:
Week 1: JUNE 6TH
Part 1: (10am – 10:45am) – Meet and Greet – we will meet one another, our babies and sip some coffee. Mommy Connections is about connecting so facilitating friendships is our first priority.
Part 2: (10:45am – 11:30am) – Adrienne McRuvie – Chiropractor, Yoga Instructor and Doula – show you the gentle art of baby massage and give you the ins and outs of babies brain development.
Week 2: JUNE 13TH
Part 1: (10am – 10:45am) -Helen Antioniades – owner of Buttlerfly Books – will discuss which books you should be reading to baby and some tips on how to do it.
Part 2: (10:45am – 11:30am) – Rebecca Earl – owner of Sugar Plum Sleep – talk about the ins and outs of Moms sleep. How much should we really get. What to do when you’re in the eye of the storm with baby to focus on your own self care and needs.
Week 3: JUNE 20TH
Part 1: (10am – 10:45am) -Shira Ben – Makeup Artist – will take us through how to apply a five minute face with a particular emphasis on how to keep the look all day despite the impending stinking hot summer days.
Part 2: (10:45am – 11:30am) – Sprouts – Move Baby Class – with superstar presenter Faye Rauw.
Week 4: JUNE 27TH
Part 1: (10am – 10:45am) – Jenny Hargreaves – Going back to work? Learn how to negotiate flexible hours and communicate your needs to your employer.
Part 2: (10:45am – 11:30am) – Taya Griffin – Lactation Consultant – discuss the full scope of nursing your babies. When to stop, start, how to keep going (or not) when the baby starts solids. Our policy at Mommy Connections is to be inclusive, kind and supportive regardless of your choices around feeding your baby.
Week 5: JULY 4TH
Part 1: (10am – 10:45am) – Dr. Blessyl Baun – Chiropractor – Answering the question why are my feet wider/bigger after having my kids and what can I do about it? Learn how to strengthen your feet and some self-care tips to keep the pain away! Understand how hormones and pregnancy affect the size of your feet and that your feet can be saved!
Part 2: (10:45am – 11:30am) – Kelly Swartz – Holistic Health Coach and Erotic Expert. Kelly will be talking about sex during pregnancy and after baby, and how to re-conquer our sexual bodies and selfs when they’ve been “kidnapped” by our babies.
Week 6: JULY 11TH
Part 1: (10am – 10:45am) – Olivia Scobie – Coach and Counsellor on all things Postpartum – talking about Mom Guilt – what is it and how to get rid of it!
Part 2: (10:45am – 11:30am) – Emily Doukogiannis – *New* Mommy Connections Director and lead photographer at Emily D Photography – Workshop all about creating photo albums with ten examples of series I’ve done for my own kids – you’ll get a comprehensive booklet on how to back up your photos, where to print, how to group your photos together and see many examples of different companies I’ve worked with. Also, we’ll take a photo of your baby like the one above.
