Hello!

My name is Jennifer Neilson. I am the new Director for Mommy Connections West Edmonton. I am also currently the Director for Mommy Connections St. Albert.  I am so excited to be the Director for Edmonton West.  I personally took the west class when my daughter was just 5 weeks old. I will never forget coming back from that first class and telling my husband “I want to know how you get into that. I would volunteer and do that job for free!” When we starting looking into moving and St. Albert was on the list of possibilities I immediately looked into a program, when I saw there was none out there I jumped on board with this amazing team!

Now my daughter is 15 months old and still being friends with most of the moms I met, certainly gives me a passion for connecting moms to each other and their community. I personally struggled with prenatal “blues” or prenatal depression and having other moms to talk to about my struggles certainly helped me with prevention of postpartum depression.

The previous Director, Jenaya Buchko will be very missed. She created such an amazing warm and connected community. I wish to do even half as good as she has done with these programs. Luckily I will keep her as a good friend, but we will all miss working with her greatly.

I look forward to this journey and meeting even more amazing moms and babies.
