Why Here? Why Now?

Well, I never can sit still for long. I have never have been able to.  My mom loves telling stories about how much of a mover I was when I was younger, and nothing much has changed.   When the opportunity  to become involved in Mommy Connections came about, I jumped on it, right away!

My husband first asked me, “Why now?  Why here, at this point in the year?”  I was happily working at a job I love, teaching preschool.  I was just getting back into the swing of the work thing, after having 2 little peanuts, and  being off for 2 years.  I loved getting out of the house, and doing what I loved.  But something was missing.

I still had stayed connected with Mommy Connections in some way, even being back to work.  I enjoyed planning and facilitating programs, when I could, for the South Edmonton programs.  I loved getting to know each new group, as well as getting to know our fabulous presenters that had so many amazing programs, products, and most importantly, information to our new moms and babies, moms of busy toddlers and even expecting moms and dads.

So, I took a leap.  This leap will be the first time I have really taken a “risk” in my career.  I have always had the stability of a contract, a permanent position to fall back on.  The past director of Mommy Connection West Edmonton, Jennifer, set some amazing footprints for this program.  They are big shoes to fill.

This is my first step into the world of entrepreneurship.  I couldn’t be more excited.  With the support of my husband, my friends, family and of course my kiddos, I am ready!  The time is now.  My time is here! (Wish me luck?!)
