June Book Pick, ” The Pout-Pout Fish”

Rhyme and repetition are such a draw to little kiddos in literature. This book, “The Pout Pout Fish” has both, and is loved by both my kiddos, one who is 4, and one who is 2.5 years!

In the book, a grouchy fish is approached by other animals in the sea about turning his frown upside down, but to no avail! He says there is no way to change, he’s just pouty…. Until he is met by a beautiful, exotic looking fish.

This a great book to teach your little ones about emotions and share ideas on how we could make someone feel better if they are feeling sad. You could also talk about ways to tell how someone is feeling by looking at their face and body, and paying attention to how their mouths look, eyes look, eyebrows look and so on! Enjoy!
