Are you less than 20 weeks pregnant? If so, we invite you to participate in our prenatal research study!
Why is this study important?
Research shows that the health and lifestyle behaviours of a mother during pregnancy are important for the long-term health of both mother and baby. The aim of the Be Healthy in Pregnancy (BeHIP) study is to understand if additional lifestyle support in pregnancy can assist women in achieving healthy prenatal outcomes. Your participation could help inform the science to improve prenatal/maternal care delivery.
What would I have to do?
You are asked to attend two study visits at the University of Alberta to meet with a study healthcare provider. Together, you will complete lifestyle questionnaires about your health before you became pregnant, as well as about your health during your pregnancy. From your home, you will also complete a few online questionnaires and have two follow-up phone calls from our study staff.
A few months after giving birth, all participants will have the opportunity to book a free nutrition session with a Registered Dietitian as a token of appreciation for participating in the study.
