The world’s first and only “mindful triathlon” comes to Edmonton on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Redefining the traditional triathlon, Wanderlust 108 will consist of a five-kilometre run, a large-scale yoga class and a guided meditation session featuring renowned local and national teachers. Triathletes will also enjoy the beats of a talented DJ, and other musical surprises throughout the day. These activities fully engage each participant’s mind and body in a fun-filled community environment.
The day will kick off with a 5K fun run through Louise McKinney Riverfront Park(9999 Grierson Hill Rd NW). In the early afternoon, high-energy yoga class fromCalifornian blissologist Eoin Finn will be followed by traditional flow yoga led byEdmonton’s Myrah Penaloza. Classes will wrap up with a relaxing guided meditation led by Vancouver-based Kate Potter. The day draws to a close with tons more to do including music from the Main Stage, watch (or participate in) AcroYoga and hooping, perusing the great finds in the Kula Marketplace and so much more.
Throughout the day, the Kula Marketplace will offer the finest from local craft vendors, including unique apparel, jewelry, and handcrafted items. Local food purveyors will provide an eclectic mix of healthy organic food options, including vegan and vegetarian fare. Confirmed vendors will be announced closer to the event date.
