Product Review: Brica Extending Metal Safety Gate

As a mother with a baby that is actively crawling and pulling to stand on everything possible, gates are a necessity in our household. As my little one thoroughly enjoys crawling up and down the stairs, we needed a gate for the top of the stairs. We were worried about the possible damage a gate can cause on our walls. This extending metal safety gate by Brica has no unsightly adjustment holes along the bars and is equipped with a unique tilting spring mechanism to reduce stress on walls every time it’s used.

When you’re constantly carrying your baby up and down the stairs with usually only 1 hand free, we love how the gate is push to shut and lock and that it is a one-way opening for use on the stairs. My 10 month old can pull herself to stand with this gate so that worried me a bit but the gate seems to be very sturdy and not to mention that it is very sleek looking.

This gate is installed using hardware and we really appreciated that there weren’t too many pieces that was needed to assemble the gate. The instructions that came with the gate was the biggest challenge and the most frustrating part. There were no written instructions but instead a list of set by set photos which can be extremely difficult to follow. My husband and I had to watch a few youtube videos to successfully install the gate and it took a while to assemble. Don’t be discouraged though because this gate is worth it.

However even with a few set backs, we do love this gate and would recommend it.
