Brighpath Childcare Information Session Review

10/30/2015

When parents start to think about looking for childcare options, it can seem like such a daunting task. Where do you look? What do you ask? What should you look for?

This past Spring, I had the pleasure of facilitating an evening event, which had representatives from Brightpath Early Learning and Childcare Centres, amongst other great presenters.
While Tina from Brightpath answered questions on where to start a childcare search, some questions to ask when touring different centres, what licensing standards were, and what it meant for centres to be accredited. She also touched on staff certification and requirements for staff in centres, along with many other topics!

What stood out to me about Brightpath was the foundation of their learning philosophy. Develop the mind, nourish the body, inspire the soul. Sounds great right? Especially after we learnt how Brightpath does all these things in their centres!

Emergent Curriculum (child-led learning, educators follow the interests of the child), plus their Frog Street Curriculum (developed and broken down into developmental stages) meet and challenge the needs of the children in their centres.
Fresh, nutritious food prepared daily, with meal plans developed by a certified nutritionist, mean healthy, tasty meals and snacks for all the children Brightpath centres.
Montessori influenced environments and learning, paired with expert led activities such as music, yoga and dance mean exposing kiddos to a variety of activities to try in with the amazing programming done daily.

Having worked in Early Learning environments for many years, it really was refreshing to hear how Brightpath has really put thought and research into what makes a great childcare environment for children. They offer great staff training opportunities, and have a team of support for the centre staff and directors. I left the presentation feeling informed about the childcare options available in Edmonton, and where to start my search (we were currently looking for a new childcare option for our family). Tina from Brightpath was a wealth of information, and I know she helped a lot of families ease their childcare search woes!Brightpath Jan 2015image
