Picture Day Haircut: The Beaners Experience

With the first two weeks of school complete, things are returning to normal around here. Earlier bedtime, waking up to an alarm (shudder), yes, the dogs days of summer are long behind us.

I am never one to feel the social pressures of keeping up and tend to march to the beat of my own drum – my kiddo much the same. So I was caught completely by surprise when little-me woke and proclaimed he needed a haircut – that this pillow brushed look just wouldn’t cut it for grade 1!

So off to Beaners we went for a haircut! I started by calling around noon and was able to get an appointment for 4:30 – right after school which was perfect! It was snowing (gross, snow in September) so the salon was completely empty when we arrived. Right away Nikki greeted us by name and called Adrian in for his haircut.

First step is to choose your car – was a quick pick for my guy! I love that stylists can move between stations here based on kids preferences! Nikki promptly got her tools and began consulting with both of us to determine the perfect cut for his upcoming school picture day.

His cut began and he wasn’t really into the movie on the screen so Nikki was great asking what he liked on Netflix and she changed it to his favourite show. He was delighted to watch cartoons and have a necessary task completeted at the same time! In under 10 minutes his cut was complete and she was happy to offer up some colour gel to complete the experience but Adrian politely declined.

I chatted a bit with Nikki after and she was able to answer all my questions about products while Adrian found another cool car and stayed zoned in to his show.
