Mommy Connections Fave 3 June 2018
The City of Grande Prairie contains over 600 acres of park area that is maintained by Parks Operations. Let’s check out my Fave 3
1) Muskoseepi is a Cree word meaning Bear Creek. Muskoseepi Park reveals the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of our region. The park features over 1100 acres of parkland with six distinct areas offering their own special opportunities. Created by the Heritage Trust Fund, Muskoseepi Park opened to the public in 1986 in order to preserve the land and offer a variety of activities for the community members and tourists of Grande Prairie.

2) South Bear Creek Park offers a wide variety of recreational activities including sporting facilities such as ball diamonds, beach volleyball courts, and a Par 3 Bear Paw golf course. The park also offers a pavilion and picnic area, walking trails, an off leash dog park, and overnight camping.
The City of Grande Prairie is eager to take South Bear Creek in a positive direction by supporting new and existing user groups, reinvesting in the facility and becoming known as a great outdoor destination, regardless of the season.

3)Pipestone Creek park
A dramatic drive down the river valley where Pipestone Creek meets the Wapiti River lies the hidden valley of Pipestone Creek Campground. Located along the Wapiti River, near one of the richest areas for dinosaur fossils in western Canada, and the largest site in the world for Pachyrhinosaurus fossils.
Thanks to this ultra-rich fossil bone-bed, Wembley is proud to be the home of the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur museum.
The park is located just 16 kilometres south of Wembley. Head west on Hwy #43, then south through the Town of Wembley, and follow signs to the park.
