Westminster Ponds

So, for all of you familiar with London, the Westminster Ponds is more of a hiking trail than an original park. The ponds have no playground or any man-made materials. I’ve actually been told that the land is protected from contractors, due to the necessity to try and preserve green space in London.

This past week was my first time hiking through this area. There are multiple trails to take and in the middle is a giant pond with a huge pier to look out on. When I was exploring this park, I was with some toddlers so I didn’t explore as much as I wanted but I was impressed with how preserved the trails were.

The trails are all marked with yellow paint, indicating the main trail to take. The trails are cleared and some areas are paved to make it accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. Since there are so many paths to take, it’s an adventure to choose where to go.

If you’re thinking of hiking out there come prepared with water, sunscreen, and bug repellent. Since there are so many different paths to take, some trails take you into the woods, while others keep you in the sun.

Although I haven’t explored the entire area, I’m looking forward to taking a day and hiking all possible trails.
