A Message from Peterborough & Kawartha Lakes‘s Chapter Director
Hello Mamas & Mamas to be! My name is Sam and I am so excited to be the Director of Mommy Connections Peterborough & Kawartha Lakes.
My motherhood journey started in September 2021 when I went from being a dog mom to having my beautiful baby girl, Morgan. What a wild ride motherhood is. I don’t think anyone can prepare you for the amount of love and joy a baby brings but also how hard your new role as a mama is! Especially at the beginning. I instantly understood the importance of having mom friends to share in your highs and lows as you learn how to be a mom! I was lucky that my best friend also had a baby around the same time. Unfortunately, she lives in Burlington. The distance seemed even further with babies and I craved in person connections. My friend told me about Mommy Connections and the classes she was going to in Burlington! She suggested searching for some classes near me and I am so thankful she did. I signed up for the next session in Durham – 45 minutes from my home.
Fast forward to March 2023 and my second, Gavin was born. I immediately signed up for another Durham mom and baby Mommy Connections class. After signing up, I knew that Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes mamas could benefit from having a Mommy Connections chapter in the area!
I am excited to be able to provide the mamas in the community with a safe space to grow, learn and share their experiences about motherhood. I know how valuable the programming was, and continues to be for me as a new mom. I am grateful to be able to share these opportunities with Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes mommas! My goal is that every mama who attends one of my classes feels supported, connected and is able to share their experiences, judgement-free! I can’t wait to meet you.
