October is Children’s Vision Month

Did you know that eye exams for children under 18 are covered by Saskatchewan Health?

Optometrists recommend annual eye exams for children aged 6 to 19. If you don’t have an optometrist you can easily find one throughoptometrists.sk.ca to book an appointment. 

My daughters visit our optometrist annually. Getting a comprehensive eye exam is about more than testing for glasses – it’s about vision health, and maintaining good vision health. 

My girls always love visiting our optometrist – they are so welcoming, and take their time with them, ensuring they feel comfortable. The doctor and assistants are great at explaining what is happening/what they are looking for, and are so patient. Whenever we have questions our optometrist is easy to reach, answers our questions, and can always fit the girls when needed. 

Last year our oldest was having blurry vision at school and we thought she may need glasses, but after a visit to our optometrist it turns out it was a build-up on her eyelids and we were given some special wipes that cleared it right up.
