Taking a Family Vacation in Niagara

Niagara is a fantastic destination for a family vacation as there are lots of things to keep all the family entertained throughout the visit. We stayed in a family friendly four star Niagara hotel when we visited recently. The hotel staff were able to offer us some excellent advice about the best attractions for the family to visit while we were there.

Niagara Falls

Regardless of whether you are travelling alone or as a family, you cannot visit this region without seeing the spectacular Niagara Falls. Not only are they fascinating and beautiful to look at, there is also plenty of things to do here as a family. The White Water Walk is a great way to see the waterfalls from different angles and a boat trip is a fun activity for everyone.

Marineland of Canada

Adults and children alike will enjoy a visit to the Marineland of Canada. This is home to many endangered species and there is a huge emphasis on conservation. It is home to both marine life that is native to the waters around Canada and more exotic species from right across the globe. You will also find typical Canadian land animals here, such as buffalo, deer, elk and bears. This is an informative, fun and interactive experience for everyone.

Fallsview Indoor Waterpark

If you enjoy swimming and thrilling slides, then you will love this waterpark. The main highlights of a day here are the 16 extreme rides and the wave pool. There is also a toddler’s splash area, an adult only Jacuzzi, a tip bucket, a sun deck, a swirling plunge bowl and an activity pool. As it is located in the middle of the tourist district, this attraction is close to most of the hotels in Niagara.

The Crystal Caves

Taking you back in time to 1884, visitors are asked to pretend they are explorers searching their way through the crystal mazes. This fun activity involves lots of confusing mazes, shaking bridges and crumbling ceilings. In addition to the elements of fun and adventure in this activity, it is also quite educational as it teaches about the construction of railways and the long-forgotten Niagara Falls railroad station.

Fun House

This indoor play area is a chance for you to release the child within. It is an indoor soft play area that allows both adult and children to use the facilities. It is an activity that is bound to have the whole family laughing as you roll, crawl and climb your way over the apparatus. Even better, it is open for 365 days of the year.

Safari Niagara

Set over 110 acres and featuring over 500 domestic and exotic animals, this is a great day out for everyone. Educational tours are available, either by foot or on a tram. Children can pet animals in the petting farm so this gives them a really hands-on experience. The more daring members of your party may want to participate in some of the more adventurous activities available here. These include a rope course, paddle boats and bungee jumping. There is also an outdoor adventure park.

No matter how old your children are, there are plenty of activities to choose from that are suitable for all the family during your stay in Niagara. Overall, taking a family vacation in Niagara will be a time filled with fun and adventure.
