Review: Mamas & Papas Globe Magic Rocker

The Mamas & Papas MAGIC Globe Rocker is the ultimate baby entertainment system.  It is a really nice looking piece of baby equipment; very sleek and modern looking and fits in perfectly with your home, without being the usual tacky baby equipment in the corner!  It is a good size and very solid.  You will need a bit of room for it, as even though it is a rocker and not a swing, it still takes up about that much room.  It is VERY easy to assembly – just a few clicks and it is ready to use!  No tools necessary!

There are 2 different ways to rock your baby – back and forth or side to side with an easy rotation of the seat.  The fabric on the seat is gorgeous.  It also comes with super soft, thickly padded buckles in lovely fabric.  The seat itself is very comfortable for baby.  There is some additional seat adjust-ability; the baby can sit up (quite upright, so definitely for older babies) and lay back nearly flat and there is a removable head support as well for very young babies.

The canopy has an interactive light show with soothing colours that will definitely keep baby entertained for those moments when you are trying to get something done!  The canopy can be up or down, as can the overhead bar.

Globe is designed to stimulate your babies key senses through light and sounds using innovative MAGIC card technology. I didn’t realize this, but the seat actually doesn’t come with the MAGIC card, so that is something additional that needs to be purchased. The rocker itself retails for $236 at Canada’s Baby Store.  Without the cards, this is just a seat that has a few lights.  With the card, there are tons of interesting interactive options.  You can also attach an MP3 player (without the MAGIC card) and have your own playlist for baby.  The volume can  be adjusted from the canopy rail.  The $29.99 MAGIC card comes in several different themes; Musical Fun, Mini Explorers, Relax, Play, Sleep and Jingly Jungle and has corresponding toys that hang from the canopy rail (the orange, green & yellow pieces hanging in the photo below) that change the light show and sounds when baby pulls on them.
