Review: Kidzoom Action Cam by VTech

The Kidizoom Action Cam by VTech lets little videographers capture their adventures with videos and photos! The Action Cam is a great first video camera for kids and is durable enough to handle drops and tumbles. It can go anywhere and do anything kids can do with two included mounts so they can attach it to their bike, skateboard and more. It also comes with a waterproof case so they can take videos and pictures up to 6′ underwater!

We loved this product.  My 6 year old daughter is an avid photographer with a Nikon Cool Pix Camera, an old iphone, a Vtech camera watch and now the Action Cam.  She attached it to her bike handle bars, her scooter, the trampoline and more.  She has now also figured out the process of plugging it into my computer to see the photos on the computer screen and can also save the images into her own photo folder.  We have 3 kids in the family, aged 6, 2 and 4 months.  I decided to take all three kids swimming one evening on my own and my daughter decided to bring along the Action Cam to test out the underwater features.  The little waterproof case actually works!!  I had my doubts and was concerned water might get in.  She was able to put it into the case on her own and my 6 and 2 year old had tons of fun taking photos of each other both in and out of the water.  They come out about as clear as a regular underwater camera – a bit blurry, but the fact that it kept them entertained while I tended to our 4 month old and also was something she could learn how to do was amazing. The regular photos turn out great – see those at the end of this post.

We receive a lot of tech gadgets to try out and honestly, sometimes it is more effort on my part to even use the product. This Action Cam is super user friendly.  My 6 year old set up the camera right out of the box, even putting it on the mount, with very little supervision.  This is a great product and really fun.  Very user friendly and definitely a neat toy for capturing tons of summer fun.

The Action Cam features a 1.4″ color LCD screen and can take regular videos and photos in addition to stop-motion videos and time-lapse photos. Your child can also explore their creativity with fun effects, frames and photo filters. They can download their photos and videos to a computer using the included micro USB cable and share them with family and friends. For even more fun, they can also play three exciting learning games.
