Review: Tom & Teddy Rash Tops

Summer is finally here! It’s the season for vacations, the beach, splash parks, water fights and sun, sun, sun!

This summer we got the chance to try out the Tom & Teddy Rash Tops.

Tom & Teddy is all about friendship, shared experiences and that special bond between father and son, specializing in classic and vibrant beachwear –  for boys and men.

These Rash Tops are designed as UPF50+, t-shirt style rashies to protect your skin from all those hot and harmful rays.

My little guy has very fair skin, and I feel he is more susceptible to getting a sun burn so we have been using rash guard shirts on him right from the start. The major difference I noticed with the Tom & Teddy signature rash top is that it fits him like a regular shirt, especially compared to the other rash tops we’ve tried which cling to him and are hard to get over his head. It is very soft and comfortable material for him as well.

As Tom & Teddy mentions, these Rash Tops dry very fast, We spent hours at the local splash park and my little guy didn’t have to change or sit and shiver while taking a lunch break as he was dry so quickly! 

The quick-drying microfibre is salt water and chlorine resistant so it is a great choice for the beach, pool, spray park and hanging out in the back yard!

My only hang up with these tops are that they are “hand wash”, but you can rinse them and dry them out in the shade and they will last a long time, providing that you take care of it properly.

We also got to try the Daddy version of the the Rash Top.  My husband loved the fit of the top.  I ordered him an extra large as we have the Tom & Teddy Swim Trunks for both Dad & Son and we found they both fit on the smaller/shorter side for the long legged men in our family.  My husband is 6’4″, so we often find that shorts are a bit too short.  It is tricky ordering an extra large top as the middle part of the shirt is usually way too big.

He really liked the way the XL Tom & Teddy Rash Top fit.  It wasn’t skin tight and it also wasn’t super large in the waist.  He said it was very comfortable and as mentioned above it dryed super fast, so it was easy to take on and off.  The navy blue and light blue colours matched all of his trunks as well.  Everyone in our family likes to stay covered when spending lots of time in the sun.  It saves on having to slather on so much sunscreen all day long and ensures our shoulders are all protected.
