Favourite Holiday Moments of 2015

12/17/2015

Our family has had an amazing and blessed year.  We celebrated the arrival of our sweet ‘bonus’ (ie – SURPRISE!) baby Landon in January 2016, just 24 months after our second child was born.  We were thrilled after so many years of infertility to suddenly become a family of 5!

The holidays have been extra busy this year with a 7 year old girl and 2 busy boys that are almost 3 and 1.  We have made it a priority to continue to do many fun things, even though it seems to be a lot of work right now and often frustrating with a busy 2 year old on the loose.  These are the moments we will cherish forever, so we are doing our best to enjoy every special moment of this holiday season.

Every year in December, we have a Fondue supper – sometimes we invite friends to join us and sometimes we have a little party all on our own.  5 people dipping their fondue forks seemed to be enough this year, so we celebrated on our own.  The kids had lots of fun!

Another holiday tradition of ours is going on a sleigh ride.  We normally go in the evening down our most festive street in the city, Candy Cane Lane.  It is usually a magical and fiercely cold evening.  You purchase the tickets weeks ahead, so you just never know what the weather will be!  This winter has been very mild, so we would have been totally fine, but we instead opted for a daytime sleigh ride hosted by our community. We had an amazing afternoon; sleigh rides, snow shoeing, roasting marshmallows and even a visit from the big guy himself!

Our family loves to be outside and makes sure to get out as much as we can to enjoy the snow.  We have gone on many winter walks lately with such beautiful winter weather.  In this photo, Daddy is pulling the big kids and the biggest kid is pulling the baby.  So much fun!

We have several more parties to look forward to and even a Christmas music experience by the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, which will be our 2 year old’s first Symphony experience.  Let’s hope he sits still long enough to enjoy it!

We also host Christmas Eve and are excited to share the excitement of the kids with our extended family.  We wish you and yours the very best in 2016!
