Quick and Easy Skin Care Tips

When I became a mom I slacked on a lot of things that were just for me, taking care of my skin is one of those things. Getting back into a great skincare routine has been wonderful and only takes 5 minutes out of your day, it makes me feel awake in the morning and refreshed in the evening. Here are some simple tips to take care of your skin and help fight the signs of aging:

  1. Use a mild cleanser to clean, hydrate and maintain clear skin.
  2. Restore your PH Balance, if your PH level is unbalanced it can cause everything from zits to wrinkles.

  3. The sun can cause many signs of aging, protect it with a lotion containing at least SPF 15 during the day.
  4. Start your day with some Almonds, they contain essential fatty acids, which helps put a stop to inflammation that accelerates fine lines, sagging, and blotchiness. Salmon, tuna and halibut are all good sources of essential fatty acids.
  5. Control stress to keep your skin calm. High levels of tension can spike hormone production that leads to breakouts or aggravates conditions like psoriasis. Take a 10-minute time-out to apply a face mask and relax.

  6. Do yoga. Yoga moves like Child’s Pose, Downward-Facing Dog and Sun Salutations improve circulation, the boost of oxygen gives your skin a lovely yoga glow. New research finds regular yoga practice may reduce the inflammation and stress that speed skin aging.
  7. Use a day & night regimen for rapid rejuvenation. Ingredients like sunscreen and antioxidants in the morning and retinoids and peptides at night work better as a team.

  8. And finally, we all want to keep our favourite products until the very last drop – but hanging on to product for too long may be doing your skin more harm than good. Once opened, all formulas get exposed to light, air and bacteria that eventually affect the product’s performance. As a rule of thumb, if it smells weird, looks different, or the texture has changed significantly – toss it out! Take a good look at the products in your bathroom and consider this a spring cleaning.
