Review: Diono Dreamliner Travel Bassinet

After the birth of my second daughter, I was presented with the opportunity to try out this new product from Diono, and I am so happy that I did!

This portable bassinet is so light weight and easily transported that you hardly even notice that you’re carrying anything extra along. The travel bag has a long strap that can be worn across your body like a messenger bag (which I love, because my arms are always full), and it folds up very compactly and quickly. I have it set up in my living room when we are at home, because I like for her to be able to nap close to where I am in the house. It’s just as comfortable as our permanent bassinet that is set up in our bedroom! My sister had made a comment to me that she wished she could bring her bassinet into other areas of her home, but its base was so large and heavy that she wasn’t able to. Needless to say, she was very envious when she saw how easy the Diono bassinet is to move around and set up anywhere.

The water resistant mattress lies flat on the ground and is pretty thick (0.6″, 15mm), and has a removable cover that makes it easy to wash. There are large panels of mesh along the side of the roomy base (as well as on the fold out canopy), so it is well vented and breathable.

I took it to my sister’s farm for a visit, and loved having the extra shade and screen to keep bugs out. The multi-position canopy is quite generous with its coverage and there is an extra integrated shade that folds up neatly inside the zippered rim of the canopy. I loved being able to unzip it to cover the other half of the bassinet.

The Diono Dreamliner comes in 2 beautiful and modern colors; a grey and teal. You definitely don’t have to worry about a tacky baby item in your home – the Dreamliner is great looking!
