Attention Busy Moms: Longo’s Opens their 3rd Oakville Location

Healthy, fresh and convenient, those are the first words that come to mind when describing the new Longo’s store location, which officially opened its doors last week, in South East Oakville at 469 Cornwall Road.

I was invited to attend the Opening Day celebration and if the store’s packed parking lot was any indication on how well this opening was received by the community, I was excited to take a look!

Upon walking though the entrance, I was handed this beautiful rose, a very nice welcome indeed!

A crowd was gathered to hear the opening speeches, watch the traditional “Biting of the Apple” to officially open the store and hear the Canadian National Anthem sung by the New Central Public School’s children’s choir.

I was treated to a personal tour of the store courtesy of Jenny Longo, Head of Longo’s Brand Products. Ms. Longo has taken a very hands on approach to the store’s layout and guided me through the various departments calling attention to a number of signature brands, her personal favourites and showcasing how convenient and easy is it for a busy parent to select meal options for their families. Ms. Longo stressed how, as a busy mom herself, it’s very important to her that the store reflect fresh, quality options for parents short on time, but committed to making healthy choices.

In addition to an extensive variety of produce, seafood, meat and bakery options, the store also includes a Starbucks, Morelli’s Pharmacy, and Corks Beer & Wine Bar. The Corks Lounge welcomes families to share in a casual dining experience – treated to a freshly prepared meal paired with an Ontario wine or craft beer of their choice.
Beside the Lounge, is The Loft, home to Longo’s cooking school where, for a small fee, you can learn to cook “Easy Thai”, “Healthy 30-Minute Meals”, or “BBQ: Smoking, Rubbing & Saucing”.
