Let’s talk about Baby Milestone Pictures! They are super cute reminders of your little ones growth but they can also be a hassle to take and sometimes forgotten. I am here to help with some great tips and tricks for getting the best pictures and also some new and unique ideas to track your little ones growth!

Tips for Getting the Perfect Milestone Pictures:

• Lighting –  Ensure you are taking the pictures during the day with natural light if possible. Near a window or even outside is preferred.
• Attention – Sometimes getting your little ones attention can be the hardest task. Toys, songs, or just saying their name can sometimes help. I think not putting so much pressure on the task is the best option and going with the flow, some months you may get a monthly picture that involves tears – that’s life! Embrace the tears and hope for a better picture next month, mama.
• Outfits – Some choose the same or similar outfits for each month. Plan ahead – ensure you have sizing that can work for this option, up to 12 months. I prefer a different outfit each month as it is less stressful and usually I keep my baby in whatever they were wearing that day!
• Set a Reminder – Put it in your calendar! Or make a notification in your phone! Remember the pictures don’t HAVE to be on the exact day each month but try your best to do it within the week.

Milestone Photo Ideas:

• Monthly Donut Pile -Have someone hold baby securely under the armpits and someone else with an open palm with a donut for each month (i.e. 1 month = 1 donut, 2 months = 2 donuts stacked etc.)
• Standard Mat – You can purchase adorable personalized or general monthly play mats that allow you to highlight the month through Amazon or Etsy.
• Adorable Monthly Disks – these disks allow for a variety of locations and poses to be used. Check out local creator Whimsical Imaginings designs here
• With a Sibling – This cute idea shows both of your little ones growing up, together.
• Monthly Pizza – What’s better than an excuse to get pizza once a month? A picture of your sweet little one in a pizza box!
