I had the opportunity to go and see Marvel Universe Live on Thursday July 16th with my husband and 2 daughters, 2.5 years old and 8 months. We had a great time! The show was fun for all everyone – children and adults! My daughter had so much fun and loved all the action. She is a very busy toddler and it takes quite a bit to keep her engaged and entertained and this show did!
The performance starts with Thor destroying the Cosmic Cube, but his brother Loki collects pieces to create his own. Iron Man discovers that Loki has created a cosmic cube of his own using the mutant energy of Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops. Iron Man recruits the help of Spider-Man, Falcon, the Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Captain Marvel – to find the three pieces of the cube, put it back together, rescue the X-Men and save the world from Loki.
After a 20 minute intermission the second half focused on 3 groups of superheroes finding the separate pieces of the cube and battling various villains to retrieve them. Meanwhile the Hulk and Wolverine headed to go find Loki and save Storm and Cyclops. Once all 3 pieces of the cube have been retrieved the superheroes all meet to defeat Loki.
There was a ton of action, a great effects, including smoke, lights, fire and fireworks. The fighting scenes were well-crafted and put the audience in the center of the action. There was a ton of wire work that was truly amazing! There were some great motorcycle stunts, including jumps which had people at the edge of their seats. Overall it was a really good show that was enjoyed by all ages! They did a great job bringing the superheroes and villains to life.
