What’s The Mileage on Your Stroller? Written By Debbie King From Think Fitness Studios

05/16/2012

Think back to last year. Remember first navigating the aisles at Macklems, Diaper-eez and Babies R’ Us? I’m convinced the time we invest in selecting baby gear is a close runner up only to the purchases of wedding dresses, cars and homes.

Expectant moms armed with registry checklists visit shops, troll Kijiji, and even cross the border to get the right stroller system at the right price. All the while we envision ourselves in our yummy mummy glory-strolling the sidewalks with our sleek city models, perched in the park with our British-style carriages, or pounding the trails with our strong, commanding joggers.

Now fast forward to the present. Is motherhood all you envisioned? Are you strolling, picnicking and exercising regularly? Hahahah (This is me laughing knowingly with you). But seriously, how much mileage have you put on your stroller? If it has clean wheels, no stains, and that new car smell, it’s time you get out!

With milder weather upon us, getting out is much easier – exercise too. If you picture yourself an active, healthy mom out ‘n’ bout with your Orbit, UPPA Baby or Baby Jogger, now is the time. The outdoor FitMOM® & Baby classes at Think Fitness Studios are an awesome start.

Each one-hour class will put some serious mileage on your runners and your stroller. Expect to forge up hills, trek down hills and jog across the varied terrain of High Park. Running not your strong suit? Not to worry. The interval structure mingles short run intervals with body weight and core strengthening exercises.  Consistent Stroller Fit workouts help alleviate post-partum aches, strengthen muscles, improve conditioning and burn thousands of calories. Amazing workouts aside, the classes are a great way to get fresh air and a dose of Vitamin D while socializing with likeminded moms. Not to mention, the instructor will lead the class with her little one in tow. If that’s not motivation, what is?!

Be the fit mom you envisioned. Grab your water bottle, unlock the breaks and put some mileage on that stroller – oh, and of course, don’t forget baby! Contact Think Fitness Studios for schedules, rates and more information. www.thinkfitnessstudios.com
