At Mommy Connections, we connect local moms with the services and social network they need to enjoy the early years of motherhood. The key to our program is that everything is local. That’s why I love the Yellow Pages “Shop The Neighbourhood” campaign taking place across the city. On Saturday November 29, 2014 Canadians nationwide are encouraged to support their communities’ small businesses by making a local purchase and taking advantage of exclusive event day deals offered in their neighbourhood.
In honour of this day, I wanted to share a few of my favourite local businesses that can help you get ready for this holiday season. When you spend your hard earned dollars, please support local families and keep your money in our community!
Party Pros
The family owned Party Pros has been located at 4242 Dundas Street West (Dundas and Royal York) for many years. We recently had the pleasure of Samantha and her little daughter Skye join us in our Mommy Connections Mom & Baby program! In support of Shop The Neighborhood, Party Pros will be offering 20% off their stunning array of Seasonal Christmas products. Enjoy savings on their entire Christmas inventory including Christmas cards (boxed & loose), wrap, bags, crackers, napkins, candles, gifts and décor.
Mention SHOP LOCAL at the register to save on all your Christmas purchases on November 29th. Then plan to make Party Pros your go-to party and gift store in the future, because they really do have the neatest products and the friendliest staff.
Puh-Nash
Does the thought of getting dressed up for your partner’s Holiday Party have you running back to your Lululemon’s in fear?! Then stop by Puh-Nash, owned by Nashly Matthews and located at 2420A Bloor St West (Bloor & Jane St, just above the Booster Juice.) Nashly has an impeccable sense of style. Her boutique is full of the hottest brands, but is carefully curated to only contain beautiful pieces that flatter any body type. Trust me, shopping can be fun again. There’s no need to cram yourself and baby into a tight change room, while a 17 year old tells you everything “looks great”. Nashly understands the changes that happen to women post baby and she has a way of being honest that won’t leave you in tears.
Diaper-eez
There is no better place to shop for a special gift for your little person than at Diaper-eez. Located at 2309 Bloor St West, Diaper-eez has been a staple in the Bloor West community since 1994. The owner Susan is a wealth of knowledge, not only on cloth diapering, but on all of your new mom questions. She hand selects her product line up and is a huge supporter of local Toronto mom run businesses. You know that if you purchase something from her store and something goes wrong, there is always a friendly face to help you rectify the situation – unlike the many of the challenges I’ve experienced shopping online. Join us at our exclusive Mommy Connections shopping party on Thurs Nov 27th, 7-9pm. The store will be open just for us and you’ll save 20% almost everything in store (excluding diapers and Medela pumps) For more details, click here.
